'Trump Is Stronger' Than Ever: Speaker McCarthy Reveals His Thoughts On Trump's 2024 Chances

On Tuesday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) exclusively told Breitbart News that 45th President and leading presidential contender Donald J. Trump is in a 'stronger' position than he was in during his 2016 White House run.

“As usual, the media is attempting to drive a wedge between President Trump and House Republicans as our committees are holding Biden’s DOJ accountable for their two-tiered levels of justice,” McCarthy told Breitbart News. “The only reason Biden is using his weaponized federal government to go after President Trump is because he is Biden’s strongest political opponent, as polling continues to show.”

According to Breitbart, McCarthy then cited a Morning Consult poll conducted from June 23-25th. The poll finds Donald Trump leading Joe Biden by three percentage points -- with Trump grabbing 44 percent of the vote. President Biden was only able to hold a measly 41 percent of the vote -- unable to generate the clear momentum Trump has on his side. 

“Just look at the numbers this morning—Trump is stronger today than he was in 2016,” McCarthy added.

He is precisely correct. Trump's policies are now proven to work, and there is no real reason for skepticism heading into 2024. Trump's policies are proven to work for the American people at large. He sought to unite America, not divide her.

Meanwhile, Biden's policies, carried over from the Obama administration, are destroying our nation politically, morally, and spiritually. He truly is the great divider 2.0. The American people demand change, and the Republican primaries will certainly highlight many of the changes we, the people, so sorely need. 

This comes after McCarthy seemed non-committal on if Trump was the best nominee for the Republican Party in an interview with CNBC on Tuesday.

“Republicans get to select their nominee. I think if you want to go sheer policy to policy, it’s not what’s good for Republicans; it’s what’s good for America. Trump’s policies are better, straightforward than Biden’s policies... Can he win that election? Yeah, he can. The question is–Is he the strongest to win the election? I don’t know that answer. But, can somebody—can anybody—beat Biden? Yeah, anybody can beat Biden. Can Biden beat other people? Yeah, Biden can beat them. It’s on any given day.”

Of course, the left could put the worst construction on these remarks. But that is not the most charitable or sensible reading of his comments. More or less, McCarthy refused to weigh in on the ongoing Republican primary. That is his prerogative. The Republican voters will ultimately decide who is going to represent their values in 2024, not the House Speaker.
