Surprising to no one who has paid attention to Special Counsel Jack Smith’s indictments of Trump, White House visitor logs are showing that a top member of the team met with a member of Joe Biden’s counsel’s office a full nine weeks before the indictment of Donald Trump.
As previously covered by the DC Enquirer, Jack Smith started the indictment frenzy against the former president, first serving the indictment over the supposed classified documents that were held in Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence. Since then, Smith has brought additional charges and another indictment. This brings Trump's total legal trouble to 91 counts across four indictments that could total up to just shy of 720 years in prison.
Countless people, including critics of the former president, have been pointing to the blatant attack on democracy that comes with fervently indicting the leading opposition in a presidential race. Not only have supporters of Trump like fellow candidate Vivek Ramaswamy (R) voiced their support, but even critics like Asa Hutchinson (R-AR) have complained about the injustice surrounding the proceedings, per the DC Enquirer.
Of course, such an active attack against Trump isn’t being done without some level of involvement of President Biden. The New York Post reported that a 10:00 a.m. meeting on March 31, 2023, occurred between Caroline Saba, deputy chief of staff for the White House counsel’s office, and Jay Bratt, a top aide to special counsel Jack Smith.
The visitor logs do not discuss the purpose or content of the meeting, instead only that they did meet, but even that alone is enough to raise eyebrows on the behind-the-scenes of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s doings. Peter Carr, a spokesman for the special counsel, claimed that the meeting was simply for a “case-related interview” but could not provide any further details on the claim.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said “There is no legitimate purpose for a line [DOJ] guy to be meeting with the White House except if it’s coordinated by the highest levels.” He also bluntly stated that he firmly believed that they were meeting to discuss coordinating the prosecution of former President Trump.
It’s no real surprise that Biden may have had some level of involvement in the persecution of Donald Trump. It isn’t shocking that the same man who has massive amounts of evidence connecting him to foreign bribery scandals is also doing questionable things back in the homeland.
