On Tuesday, the husband of porn "star" Stormy Daniels, Barrett Blade, told CNN in an interview with Erin Burnett that there's a "good chance" the couple will leave the United States if 45th President Donald Trump is acquitted in his Manhattan trial. "Either way, I don't think it gets better for her. I think if it's not guilty, we got to decide what to do. Good chance we'll probably vacate this country." "I don't see it as a win situation either way. I know that we would like to get on with our lives. I know that she wants to move past this. We just want to do what I guess you'd say normal people get to do in some aspects, but I don't know if that ever will be, you know, and it breaks my heart," he added.
This comes after Daniels' testimony on the witness stand last week fell flat with jurors. "She told a lot of jokes, and not all of them landed," MSNBC legal analyst Harry Litman said of Daniels' testimony. Daniels claims she had a one-night stand with Trump in 2006 and was paid a $130,000 hush money payment by Trump's former lawyer and now-convicted liar, Michael Cohen. Daniel's accusation against Trump conflicts with two letters she signed in 2018, reading, "I recently became aware that certain news outlets are alleging that I had a sexual and/or romantic affair with Donald Trump many, many, many years ago," Daniels said on Jan. 10, 2018, "I am stating with complete clarity that this is absolutely false," she added.
"My involvement with Donald Trump was limited to a few public appearances and nothing more. When I met Donald Trump, he was gracious, professional and a complete gentleman to me and EVERYONE in my presence," Daniels wrote. "Rumors that I have received hush money from Donald Trump are completely false. If indeed I did have a relationship with Donald Trump, trust me, you wouldn't be reading about it in the news, you would be reading about it in my book. But the fact of the matter is, these stories are not true," Daniels added.
On Jan 30, 2018, Daniels signed a second statement, reading, "The fact of the matter is that each party to this alleged affair denied its existence in 2006, 20011 [sic], 2016, 2017 and now again in 2018. I am not denying this affair because I was paid 'hush money' as it has been reported in overseas owned tabloids. I am denying this affair because it never happened." In March 2022, Daniels was ordered to pay Trump $300,000 after losing a defamation case against him. In April 2023, Daniels lost another case against Trump in the 9th Circuit Court, where Trump was awarded $121,962 in attorney fees.

Given that Daniels signed two letters contradicting her supposedly sworn testimony, the fact that she's not been charged with perjury speaks volumes about the nature of this sham trial.
