Texas AG Ken Paxton Doubles Down On Fight To Make Sure Illegal Aliens Aren't Registered To Vote

On Wednesday, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R-TX) doubled down on his fight to ensure illegal aliens and noncitizens are not registered to vote by sending a letter to the Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson (R-TX). Paxton requested all records of registered voters that don't have a Texas-issued driver's license or identification number. Paxton wrote in the letter, "As our offices continue our cooperative efforts on the critical issue of election integrity, my office has identified information maintained by the Secretary of State that will facilitate our efforts to prevent non-U.S. Citizens from casting illegal votes in Texas elections and to investigate potential voter fraud."

"To that end, I formally request that you provide to my office each record in the statewide voter registration database (TEAM) for which the Secretary of State does not have a State of Texas issued driver's license or identification card number for that individual," Paxton added. "There is no time for delay," Paxton wrote on X. "Texans cannot afford to lose another second waiting for their vote and their voice to be protected from illegal ballots. Every election official in the State must join me in prioritizing this. Our State and our Country are counting on you to do everything possible to expedite transparency and accountability to secure our elections and make sure noncitizens do not illegally vote."

This comes after Paxton demanded Secretary Nelson request data from the federal government that would allow Texas to determine the citizenship status of specific registered voters. "The Secretary of State's Office ultimately sent a request to the federal government that allows for excessive delays, potentially preventing Texas from receiving this critical information before the election. Crucially, the request sent by SOS did not provide any information to the federal government about the individuals whose citizenship status needs to be verified, which defeats the purpose of the letter," a press release from Ken Paxton's office reads.

In early September, Trump wrote in a post on his top-rated social media platform, "I, together with many Attorneys and Legal Scholars, am watching the Sanctity of the 2024 Presidential Election very closely because I know, better than most, the rampant Cheating and Skullduggery that has taken place by the Democrats in the 2020 Presidential Election." "It was a Disgrace to our Nation! Therefore, the 2024 Election, where Votes have just started being cast, will be under the closest professional scrutiny and, WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law, which will include long term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again," Trump added.

"We cannot let our Country further devolve into a Third World Nation, AND WE WON'T! Please beware that this legal exposure extends to Lawyers, Political Operatives, Donors, Illegal Voters, & Corrupt Election Officials. Those involved in unscrupulous behavior will be sought out, caught, and prosecuted at levels, unfortunately, never seen before in our Country," the 45th president wrote.
