They're 'Being Sold Down The Drain': President Trump Considers Joining Striking Michigan Auto Workers

Last week, the United Auto Workers union launched strikes against the Big Three American auto companies, General Motors (GM), Ford, and Stellantis, after they failed to reach an agreement on increasing wages and providing other benefits. 

According to Breitbart, one of the leading causes for the strike is the impact that President Biden's electric vehicle mandate is having on the industry. As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, American car companies are trying to keep up with Biden's EV push but it has led to companies like Ford being forced to lay off workers as billions of dollars in losses develop due to its investment in EVs.

Given these harrowing circumstances, leading Republican presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump is considering joining picketers in Michigan to show his support for their cause.

According to Detroit News, the Trump campaign is weighing whether or not to make the visit in the coming days. If they do, Trump will likely visit Ford's assembly plant in Wayne, Michigan. The other two plants impacted by the strike are GM's factory in Wentzville, Missouri, and Stellantis' plant in Toledo, Ohio.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Trump has been very vocal about his support of the union workers who have been sabotaged by Biden's policies and the auto company's refusal to alleviate their workers' suffering.

"The United Autoworkers are being sold down the 'drain' with this all Electric Car SCAM," Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social on Sunday. "They’ll be made in China, under Crooked Joe’s CHINA FIRST POLICY. AUTOWORKERS, VOTE FOR TRUMP - I’LL MAKE YOU VICTORIOUS & RICH."

"IF YOUR 'LEADERS' WON’T ENDORSE ME, VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE, NOW," he continued. "WITH THE DEMOCRATS & CROOKED JOE CALLING THE SHOTS, YOU’LL BE JOBLESS & PENNILESS WITHIN 4 YEARS. REMEMBER, BIDEN IS A CROOK WHO HAS BEEN PAID MILLIONS OF DOLLARS BY CHINA, & OTHERS. He is a Manchurian Candidate!!!"

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, this isn't the first time that Trump has stood up for the UAW workers.

"Shawn Fain, the respected President of the United Auto Workers, cannot even think about allowing ALL ELECTRIC CARS - THEY WILL ALL BE MADE IN CHINA, and the Auto Industry in America will cease to exist," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post earlier this month. "There is already a giant 'E GLUT,' they don’t go far or long, are very expensive, and the consumer must be given a CHOICE. Vote for TRUMP, and I will stop this Madness, IMMEDIATELY! Mexico & Canada LOVE Biden’s idiotic policy. SAVE MICHIGAN and the other Auto States. SAVE THE AMERICAN CONSUMER!!!" "The Great State of Michigan will not have an auto industry anymore if Crooked Joe Biden’s crazed concept of “all Electric Cars” goes into effect. CHINA WILL TAKE IT ALL, 100%," Trump wrote in a seperate post. "United Auto Workers, VOTE FOR TRUMP. Get your leaders to ENDORSE ME, I WILL KEEP ALL OF THESE GREAT JOBS, AND BRING IN MANY MORE. CHOICE IN SCHOOLS, AND CHOICE IN CARS!!!"
The Biden administration is pushing to have at least 50 percent of America's vehicles by 2030 be powered by electricity in order to "fight climate change" and achieve "environmental justice."

In response to this push, Trump argued that the various regulations would kill American jobs, with the former president telling The Hill, "Driven by his ridiculous regulations, electric cars will kill more than half of U.S. auto jobs and decimate the suppliers that they decimated already — decimate the suppliers, and it’s going to decimate your jobs and it’s going to decimate more than anybody else, the state of Michigan ... It’s is going to be decimation."

President Trump is standing up for the American worker just like he did in 2016 and during his administration. His potential decision to join them on the picket line would once again show that he is a man of the people.
