Over the past week, Democrats from across Congress rallied against the various progressive lawmakers, led by Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who voted against condemning Hamas and supporting Israel.
The resolution passed with a vote of 412 to 10 with Democratic Reps. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Cori Bush (D-MO), Al Green (D-TX), Summer Lee (D-PA), Delia Ramirez (D-IL), and Andre Carson (D-IN) all voting against the measure.
"I cannot support a resolution that fails to acknowledge and mourn the lives of Palestinians taken by the Israeli military," Omar wrote in a statement following the vote.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) also voted against the measure, explaining that he is "opposed to WWIII and anything that leads to it."
Democratic Reps. Greg Cesar (D-TX), Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), Joaquin Castro (D-TX), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Jesus Garcia (D-IL) voted "present" on the resolution condemning Hamas terrorists.
In response to the burgeoning rift within the Democrat Party, Rep. Josh Gotteimer (D-NJ) took to X/Twitter to condemn his colleagues, writing, "Last night, 15 of my Democratic colleagues voted AGAINST standing with our ally Israel and condemning Hamas terrorists who brutally murdered, raped, and kidnapped babies, children, men, women, and elderly, including Americans."
"They are despicable and do not speak for our party," he added, as reported by Newsmax.
Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL) told The Wall Street Journal that he has been "incredibly disappointed" at the various lawmakers who have refused to condemn Hamas, specifically slamming those "who not only haven't been able to condemn the horrific terror attack on Israel but have celebrated it and called it resistance."
"She spread a claim by Hamas that is not true, that has led to threats to American military personnel and diplomats around the world, and continues to throw gasoline on that fire," Schneider explained. "It's important that all of us call out evil. We may have differences of opinion, but we don't get to have our own facts."
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Tlaib has continued to insist that the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) bombed the al-Ahli hospital in Gaza, a Hamas propaganda story that has been debunked by various intelligence agencies and the media.
Tlaib has also refused to delete her initial post, which has been community noted by X/Twitter, which condemned Israel for the bombing that was, in reality, the result of a Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket misfiring and hitting the parking lot. Rather than 500 deaths, as was initially reported by the mainstream media, the rocket only resulted in, at most, casualties in the double digits.
In addition to being instrumental in leading the occupation of the Cannon House Office Building last week, Tlaib's actions have resulted in a censure resolution to be introduced by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
"Rashida Tlaib is an anti-Semite, pro-Hamas, and led an insurrection into the Capitol complex," Greene wrote on X/Twitter. "Every member of Congress will be on record. Including every Democrat. Will they condemn Rashida Tlaib's hatred or support her sympathy for terrorists?"
