On Monday, Donald Trump Jr., son of the leading Republican presidential contender and 45th President Donald J. Trump, slammed far-left Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D), after she indicted Trump on charges related to the 2020 election.
"They're criminalizing the 1st Amendment. They're criminalizing routine legal work. They're bulldozing over due process rights," Trump Jr. tweeted. "They're openly interfering in an election. These psychopaths would happily destroy everything that makes our nation great just to 'get Trump.'"
Trump Jr. gets the issue exactly right. Trump has every right to question the legitimacy of an election in a battleground state. After all, he is not the first notable figure in the history of Georgia politics to take issue with the legitimacy of a widely-controverted election. 2018 and 2022 Democrat gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D-GA) has still yet to concede her 2018 loss to Governor Brian Kemp (R-GA). But no one on the right is trying to jail Abrams for being an 'election denier.'
Trump Jr. did not stop there. The 45th president's son continued in another tweet, adding, "They violated my father's due process rights, tainted the Grand Jury, and then lied thru their teeth about it."
Trump Jr. then called on Georgia Attorney General Brad Raffensberger (R-GA) to put an end to the sham prosecution, saying, "Prosecutorial misconduct like this is what a RIGGED SYSTEM looks like. How is the AG of Georgia not stepping in to stop this travesty of justice, after the Fulton County DA violated my father's Constitutional Rights and tainted the Grand Jury? Going full Banana Republic!!!"
The actions of DA Willis are egregious indeed. As such, President Trump expressed similar sentiments on his Truth Social, slamming Fulton County DA Willis for campaigning on a 'Get Trump' platform.
"So, the Witch Hunt continues! 19 people Indicated tonight, including the former President of the United States, me, by an out of control and very corrupt District Attorney who campaigned and raised money on, 'I will get Trump,'" Trump posted on Truth Social. "And what about those Indictment Documents put out today, long before the Grand Jury even voted, and then quickly withdrawn? Sounds Rigged to me! Why didn’t they Indict 2.5 years ago? Because they wanted to do it right in the middle of my political campaign. Witch Hunt!"
The witch hunt is real, and Republicans all over the nation are horrified at the rot and decay in our justice system. We demand action from Republican politicians all over America, and we demand it now.
