WATCH: Tim Scott Takes A Stand, Argues We Should 'Celebrate' Our Founding Fathers For The 'Geniuses' They Are

On Tuesday, South Carolina Senator and 2024 presidential candidate Tim Scott (R-SC) argued Americans should celebrate their founding fathers for the nation they envisioned and helped to create all those years ago.

"America was born out of a revolution for freedom and opportunity. In no other land would my story be possible. Today, and every day, I'm proud to be an American," Scott tweeted.
Scott followed this up with a Twitter video posted to his campaign page, in which he said, "Happy Fourth of July! We are blessed to live in the greatest nation on God's green earth. America truly is the land of opportunity. To the patriots who fought on the battlefield for our freedom, I say thank you. God Bless the United States of America." In the video, Scott said,"I am Tim Scott and I want to wish you a happy Fourth of July. We are blessed to live in the greatest country on God's green earth. Our Founding Fathers were geniuses who should be celebrated -- not canceled." Scott continued, adding, "America is the land of opportunity -- not a land of oppression. I know it because I have lived it," Scott added, referencing upbringing by a single mother.

This is not the first time Scott has praised our nation's founding. Last year, Scott tweeted, "235 years ago today, the Constitutional Convention began at Independence Hall in Philadelphia where our Founding Fathers gathered to lay the groundwork for American democracy. The freedoms enshrined in our Constitution must always be protected!" Scott knows the virtues of the American republic better than most. And his practical experience with American greatness makes him all the more fit to sing her praises.
