Trump Endorses Jim Jordan For Speaker Of The House: ‘He Has Been A Star Long Before’ Being In Congress

On Friday morning, leading 2024 presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump endorsed Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) for speaker of the House amid reports that Trump himself may jump into the running to be House speaker.

In a post on his top-rated social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Congressman Jim Jordan has been a STAR long before making his very successful journey to Washington, D.C., representing Ohio’s 4th Congressional District.”

“Respected by all, he is now Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. As President, I had the honor of presenting Jim with our Country’s highest civilian award, The Presidential Medal of Freedom. So much is learned from sports, and Jim was a master,” Trump added.

“While attending Graham High School, he won State Championships all four years, a rarity, and compiled an amazing 156-1 record. At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Jim became a two-time NCAA Division l Wrestling Champion,” Trump continued.

“He won his 1985-86 NCAA Championship Matches in his weight class. Jim has a master's degree in Education from Ohio State University & a Law Degree from Capital University. He is STRONG on Crime, Borders, our Military/Vets, & 2nd Amendment,” Trump truthed.

“Jim, his wife, Polly, & family are outstanding - He will be a GREAT Speaker of the House, & has my Complete & Total Endorsement,” Trump wrote.

Before announcing his endorsement, Trump was floated as a potential House speaker by many representatives including Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).

"If Trump becomes Speaker of the House, the House chamber will be like a Trump rally every day!! It would be the House of MAGA," Greene wrote in a post on Twitter/X on Wednesday.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump elaborated, writing, “I am running for President, have a 62 Point lead over Republicans, and am up on Crooked Joe Biden, despite the Democrat Party’s massive Law-fare, Weaponization, and Election Interference efforts, by 4 to 11 Points, but will do whatever is necessary to help with the Speaker of the House selection process, short term, until the final selection of a GREAT REPUBLICAN SPEAKER is made.”

“A Speaker who will help a new, but highly experienced President, ME, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump added.

“Donald Trump is considering meeting with House Republicans at the Capitol next week, a source familiar with the former president’s plans tells the Guardian, as his party works to elect a new speaker following Kevin McCarthy’s overthrow,” the Guardian reported on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, President Trump posted on Truth Social a photoshopped photo of himself as speaker of the House amid a scramble to get a new Republican leader.

This came after now ex-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was ousted on Tuesday after Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and his allies successfully removed him. McCarthy made history as the first House speaker ever to be fired from his post.

Earlier on Wednesday, after sitting in court for his New York fraud case, Trump spoke to reporters outside of the courtroom and didn’t rule out being speaker of the House.

“A lot of people have been calling me about speaker. All I can say is that we will do what is best for the country and for the Republican Party," Trump said.

"We have some great, great people,” Trump added.

“A lot of people have asked me about it. Look, I'm focused and I'm leading by 50 points for president. My focus is totally on that. If I can help them during the process, I would do it. But we have some great people in the Republican Party,” Trump said.
