Trump: Indictment From Georgia DA Has Come During 'Dark Period' In U.S. History

Donald J. Trump, the 45th president of the United States and 2024 Republican frontrunner, described the indictment against him issued by Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fanni Willis as arriving at a "dark period for our country." However, despite the charges against him, Trump vowed to win the upcoming election and "Make America Great Again," according to Fox News.

In an interview aired on Fox on Monday night, Trump addressed the indictment, his fourth since the 2020 election, and the spurious allegations that his legal efforts to challenge the results constituted a 'criminal enterprise.'

"Nineteen people were indicted, and the whole world is laughing at the United States as they see how corrupt and horrible a place it has turned out to be under the leadership of Crooked Joe Biden," Trump told Fox

He pointed to the blatant political motivation and bias of DA Wallis observing,

"The racist and corrupt district attorney of Fulton County, which has turned out to be a murder capital of the world with among the highest violent crime levels anywhere in our country, just opened a fundraising site in order to benefit off the things she most campaigned on, ‘I will get Donald Trump’"

In keeping with his consistent statements regarding the legally dubious investigations against him, Trump explained that the latest from Georgia, "is a continuation of the greatest and longest-running Witch Hunt in American history."

Trump stressed, "This politically-inspired indictment, which could have been brought close to three years ago, was tailored for placement right smack in the middle of my political campaign, where I am leading all Republicans—by a lot—and beating Joe Biden soundly in almost all polls."

As previously reported by DC Enquirer, a Georgia grand jury handed down a ten-charge indictment against Trump Monday night including "Violation Of The Georgia Rico (Racketeer Influenced And Corrupt Organizations) Act," "Solicitation Of Violation Of Oath By Public Officer," "Conspiracy To Commit False Statements and Writings" and "Conspiracy To Commit Forgery in the First Degree," as well as a number of other charges.

Reports published earlier in August proved accurate in the expectation that Wallis would attempt to charge Trump with conspiracy and racketeering or the 'RICO' Act designed for use against mafiosos and organized crime dating to the 1970s-2000s prosecutions of La Cosa Nostra, or the 'Five families', after the historic difficulty the government had prosecuting Chicago gangsters earlier in the 20th century.

Trump told Fox News, that regarding Willis, it is "not even conceivable that a person with such a record of failure could be allowed to interrupt perhaps the most important election in the history of our country."

"Just like she has allowed Atlanta to go to hell with all of its crime and violence, so too has Joe Biden allowed the United States of America to go to the same place with millions of people invading our country, inflation, bad economy, no energy, and lack of respect all over the world."
