45th President Donald Trump has gained an immense lead in both the Republican presidential primary polling as well as his head-to-head matchup in a potential 2024 election versus current President Joe Biden.
A new Harvard-Harris poll shows the former president sitting at a massive lead against his fellow Republicans in the primary match-up. Trump garnered 58 percent support, nearly quadrupled second place Ron DeSantis, who sits at 16 percent support. It is worth noting, however, DeSantis has still yet to announce his presidential bid, though it is widely suspected he will be doing so in the coming week.
The recent poll shows a three-point increase for the New York City businessman and a four-point decrease for the Florida governor. Vivek Ramaswamy, Mike Pence, and Nikki Haley all trail behind Trump and DeSantis, each getting four percent respectively.
Trump's dominance doesn’t end there, however, with him also completely overtaking President Biden in a hypothetical 2024 election. The former president was able to get 47 percent against Biden’s 40 percent, a massive seven percent lead over the mentally declining politician. The recent poll gave Trump a two percent increase since the last poll, while the current president seems to be resting at that 40 percent mark.
In contrast to Trump’s considerable victory, DeSantis fell a little bit short, tying with Biden in a 2024 election match-up. Both Biden and the Sunshine State governor garner 42 percent, putting them at a deadlock in the polls.
The survey was conducted from May 17-18, using 2,004 registered voters for the poll. The poll comes as more and more Republicans announce their intent to run for the presidential primary, increasing the competition for Trump. Others have teased or are expected to announce their presidential bid as well, so the competition looks to only be increasing in the coming months.🚨 National Poll by Harvard/Harris

Trump shared his opinion on the polling, criticizing his Republican advisory writing, “As I said — Ron is unelectable. I am up on Crooked Joe Biden by, at least, 7 and Ron DeSanctimonious is losing by 4. His ‘campaign’ has been a total disaster!”
The poll shows high hopes for Republicans wanting to not have to live another four years under the failing Biden administration. The major lead from Trump shows immense possibilities for a successful 2024 run and another four years in office for the New York billionaire.
