WATCH: Vivek Ramaswamy Demands Other Candidates Speak Up Against The 'Political Persecution' Of Trump, Vows To Pardon Him If Elected

Republican candidate for the 2024 election Vivek Ramaswamy gave his opinion on the most recent indictment against fellow Republican Donald Trump, calling it “un-American” and pledging to pardon Trump if elected. The presidential hopeful explained that at the time of the indictment, Hunter Biden’s former best friend testified against the Biden family in Congress.

As previously covered by the DC Enquirer, Special Counsel Jack Smith alongside the Biden Justice Department has once again thrown an indictment at the former president, claiming that he played a part in the January 6th riot despite his acquittal by the Senate. The move has been widely seen as a blatant attack on the upcoming 2024 election as Trump is currently the dominating frontrunner against the mentally declining Biden.

Although many candidates are running against Trump that doesn’t mean they can’t see the clear injustice that is being forced against him. Vivek Ramaswamy made a tweet following the announcement condemning the “corrupt federal police” and swearing change.

“The corrupt federal police just won’t stop until they’ve achieved their mission: eliminate Trump. This is un-American & I commit to pardoning Trump for this indictment,” the post read. “Donald Trump isn’t responsible for what happened on Jan 6. The real cause was systematic & pervasive censorship of citizens in the year leading up to it. If you tell people they can’t speak, that’s when they scream. If you tell people they can’t scream, that’s when they tear things down. If we fail to admit the truth, Jan 6 will just be a preview of far worse to come & I don’t want to see us get there.”

Alongside his tweet was a four-and-a-half-minute video lamenting “another sad moment in our country's history.” In the video, he further expanded his tweet on how the Biden Department of Justice is executing a “political persecution” against “the lead contender in the Republican primary for U.S. President.”

He noted how sitting back and watching Trump get eliminated from the race would make it easier for him to win the nomination but that is not the race he wishes to participate in. He added that the charges against the former president are entirely unjust and even though he would have made different decisions in Trump’s shoes, that doesn’t mean a crime was committed.

“Donald Trump was not responsible for what happened on January 6th. You wanna know what was responsible? I said this in the days after January 6th, 2021, just as I say it today. Systematic pervasive censorship in this country,” Ramaswamy stated boldly in his Twitter video.

Specifically, he pointed to the censorship against American citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic and the “double standard” that happened against conservatives during that time. Ramaswamy also pointed to the corruption around the censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop, something that would have played a crucial role in the 2020 election if not heavily hidden.

The Republican nominee warned that if changes don’t come then what happened on January 6th may become “a friendly parlay” by comparison. He also added that it’s essential that his fellow candidates speak against the blatant corruption of the Biden administration and stand behind former President Trump.

Ramaswamy undoubtedly took the high road in his video. The latest indictment against Trump is another chance that could be used to attack the former president’s reputation and secure a solid place in the coming Republican primaries.

Instead, Ramaswamy moves to unite his fellow Republicans behind his principles and defend Trump from the onslaught of injustice that he faces. Ramaswamy continues to show why has been steadily rising in the polls and will likely continue to do so after this.
