WATCH: Anti-Israel Protesters Clash With Police On Second Night Of DNC, Burn American Flag

On the second night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, anti-Israel protesters once again took to the streets of the Windy City as they attempted to march on the Israeli consulate in downtown Chicago. The demonstration, organized by a group called Behind Enemy Lines, began at 7 PM CST and was able to push through a Chicago Police Department line before being more heavily confronted by officers.

Demonstration organizers gave speeches to protesters gathered outside the consulate before demonstrators eventually clashed with police when the demonstration, which the city did not approve, began to be dispersed. Multiple arrests were caught on video as riot police and bike police told demonstrators to leave the area. Footage from the scene shows protesters burning both Israeli and American flags, with one extremist yelling, "F*ck this country… burn it down. Burn it down."

In response to the protests, Chicago Police Superintendent Larry Snelling explained that his officers would ensure that the demonstrators could peacefully protest while ensuring public safety. "Well, what I can tell you is you never know what to expect from a group like that, but what I can tell you is what I expect from our side, what I expect from our Chicago police officers, who are going to be responding to that. And, regardless to what they're saying from the CPD aspect of it, we're going to rely on our training," Snelling said, per ABC7 New York. "We're going to stay focused, stay focused on First Amendment protection, but we're also going to make sure that we protect everyone in this city."

The clash between anti-Israel protesters and police marks the second day of unlawful conduct outside the Democratic National Convention. As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, thousands of protesters descended on the DNC on Sunday evening, and organizers plan to hold demonstrations throughout the week. The protest march on Sunday, organized by a group made up of a coalition of "feminist, LGBTQ, and pro-Palestinian organizations" called Bodies Outside of Unjust Laws, protested in favor of LGBTQ+ rights, national legislation on abortion, the divestment of American funds from Israel, and an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The first day of the convention on Monday saw at least four far-left radicals being arrested by the authorities. Demonstrators have planned at least five more marches through the last day of the convention on Thursday.
