WATCH: Hollywood Star Defends Harrison Butker's Commencement Speech - 'I Can't Find Anything Offensive About What He Said'

On Saturday, 'Everybody Loves Raymond' star Patricia Heaton posted a video to X defending NFL star Harrison Butker's controversial commencement address at Benedictine College. In this speech, the Kansas City Chiefs kicker upheld traditional views on gender roles and the family, in keeping with the Roman Catholic faith he shared with the college and millions of patriotic Americans nationwide.

"Okay, I am going to weigh in on Harrison Butker really quick for one second. I don't understand why everyone's knickers are in a twist. He gave a commencement speech. The audience applauded twice during the speech and gave him a standing ovation at the end, so clearly they enjoyed what he was saying," Patricia Heaton began her remarks. As a Catholic herself, Heaton has voiced her faith on several occasions, standing out as one of the notable Catholics in Hollywood.

During an interview with Vatican News following her meeting with Pope Francis in September of 2022, Patricia Heaton told the outlet, "My sister is a Dominican nun. My grandparents met Pope John Paul I. My mom was one of 15 children. I have some 100 first cousins on my mom's side. So, we're a very Catholic family. Meeting the Pope is such an incredible honor that I never thought I would have."

As Breitbart News previously reported, Patricia Heaton continued her remarks, adding, "The guy is espousing his own opinions and Catholic doctrine… um, so what? It's his opinion. He can have one. He's allowed. He's not a monster for stating what he believes. He went after Bishops much more than he went after women, or what women's choices are, or what he thinks they should be. So I do not understand. I am a Catholic woman who worked through my kid's childhood. And I believe that God opened those doors for me, and thankfully, it was a schedule that allowed me to be a full-time mom basically. I can't find anything offensive about what he said."

The actress concluded the video by saying, "I am just curious at to why people get offended. If you have made choices in your life and you feel those were the right choices and you are comfortable and they are working out for you and your family -- great! And if they are different from his, that is great. You do you, and he will do him and his family. Relax everybody!"
