WATCH: House Democrats Attempt To Censor RFK At House Hearing On Government Censorship

In the ultimate act of irony, at the Thursday hearing held by the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government over censorship, the Democrats present pushed to censor presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy (D) who was present to speak about censorship by the government.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Kennedy gave his opening remarks discussing the polarization in America and how the federal government pushing for more censorship will only worsen the problem. He also discussed the different censorship that he has faced over the years and talked about the recent “targeted propaganda” that has been used against him by claiming he has made racist or anti-Semitic claims when he did not.

It seems that Rep. Deborah Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) did not bother to listen to his opening statement where he discussed how these claims of racism and anti-semitism were false, as she made a motion to censor him over “despicable anti-Semitic and anti-Asian comments as recent as last week.”

The Florida representative used a rule that if a testimony may “tend to defame, degrade or incriminate any person” they can move to censor them. She then pulled up the recent comments that were taken out of context where Kennedy was discussing bioweapons and took note of how COVID-19 had different levels of immunity among different races, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer.

Another member of the committee questioned if it is “the custom of this committee to censor viewpoints that we disagree with,” which immediately put Rep. Wasserman Schultz on the defensive.

The committee then voted to table to motion, where the Democrats all voted in favor of censoring Robert F. Kennedy. The vote ended with ten Republicans voting to get rid of the motion and eight Democrats voting to keep the motion, ending with the motion being dismissed.

It’s sad that despite RFK having his entire opening speech focused on how censoring one another does nothing but deepen polarization in this country and worsen the divide, somehow the Democrats on the committee still found it necessary to attempt to censor Kennedy. It’s especially sad that they wanted to censor him over a misunderstanding that he took time in his opening statement to attempt to clear making the move from Rep. Wasserman Schultz seems not just uninformed but also malicious.

The irony present is quite palpable: at a hearing over censorship and the weaponization of government, Democrats attempted to weaponize censorship to shut down a witness that has been consistently censored over faulty claims.
