WATCH: In Iowa, Trump Vows To Continue Protecting The 2nd Amendment: 'We Have No Choice'

On Thursday, 45th President and leading 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump visited "The Machine Shed" restaurant in Urbandale, Iowa to address the Westside Conservative Club and vowed to continue protecting the 2nd Amendment.

"I've been a great friend of the 2nd Amendment. You wouldn't really have a 2nd Amendment as you know it without me. I protected you. It has not been easy. As you know there's been a big change in the minds of some people. Even people that were advocates are less advocates now. We are very pro-2nd Amendment," Trump said.

"We have the NRA endorsement. We've had all of the endorsements from the people looking to protect the 2nd Amendment. I'm 100 percent for the 2nd Amendment. We have to have it. We have no choice. For a lot of reasons we have to have it," Trump added.

"When you look at Chicago and when you look at New York, they have the strongest gun laws anywhere in the world. Chicago, last weekend, they had 50 people shot and 12 died with the strongest gun laws in the country. Probably in the world. You basically can't have a gun. I'm a very big 2nd Amendment person, as you know," Trump said.

'WE LOVE YOU': TRUMP RECEIVES LOVING STANDING OVATION FROM OVERFLOWING CROWD OF SUPPORTERS

When Trump arrived, Supporters can be heard saying, “We love you, President Trump," “Welcome to Iowa," “We’ve got your back! Thank you," “Greatest President of all time," and more.

An upbeat and smiling Trump signed photographs, hats, and more.

Trump is currently leading the 2024 presidential primary and the general election by a landslide, according to Emerson College Polling.

In a new Emerson College Iowa poll from May 19 to 22, Trump is leading all other Republican opponents with a massive and impressive 62 percent. Florida Governor and now 2024 Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis came in second place with a far 20 percent.

In a hypothetical 2024 presidential matchup between Trump and President Joe Biden, Trump crushed Biden with a 49 percent victory, 11 points higher than Biden's 38 percent. 10 percent plan to vote for someone else and 3 percent remain undecided.

In a hypothetical 2024 matchup between DeSantis and Biden, DeSantis beats Biden with a less impressive victory than Trump received. DeSantis won with 45 percent to Biden's 38 percent.

With polls showing Trump in the lead amongst all potential Republican and Democrat challengers, any potential candidate will have an impossible battle if they attempt to usurp the favorite to win the 2024 nomination.
