On Wednesday, Axios reported that Joe Biden is considering issuing an executive order to limit illegal entries into our southern border. This comes after a sharp decline in the president's approval ratings, as more Americans embrace Donald J. Trump's closed-border agenda as a healthy alternative that works for America.
"President Biden used an interview with Spanish-language broadcaster Univision that aired Tuesday to send a massive signal that he plans to issue an executive order to dramatically limit the number of asylum-seekers who can cross the southern border. Axios is told that while it's not final, such an executive order is likely by the end of April," Axios reported. Axios adds, "Biden would use authority in Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, which gives the president broad leeway to block entry of certain immigrants if it would be 'detrimental' to U.S. national interests." Axios admits that this is yet another example of Biden taking a page out of Trump's book, with the 45th president frequently leaning on that provision to protect our national sovereignty.
In a Tuesday interview with Univision, Joe Biden told host Enrique Acevedo, "We are examining whether or not I have that power. I would have that power under the legislation when the border has over 5,000 people a day trying to cross the border because you cannot manage it, slow it up. There's no guarantee that I have that power all by myself without legislation. And some have suggested I should just go ahead and try it. And if I get shut down by the court, I get shut down by the court. But we're trying to work that, work through that right now." Americans need decisive action and a southern border we can trust -- two things that the Democrats have failed to secure despite years of posturing.
Fortunately for those supporting an actual closed-border agenda, Trump remains a potent force to win the presidency in 2024, and, as such, he has a great chance to build the wall we, the people, so desperately need. The Real Clear Politics polling average has him besting Joe Biden in nationwide polling in recent months, despite the fact that Republican presidential candidates can generally afford to underperform in the popular vote while still winning the election - as they did in 2000 and 2016.
The potential for Republicans in 2024 is limitless if they effectively communicate their agenda and critique the Biden administration's 'America Last' policies. The future of our nation may very well depend on it. This means uniting around an agenda that resonates with Americans, one that champions life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all.
