During a Sunday appearance on Fox News's 'Sunday Morning Futures,' Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) told guest host Jason Chaffetz that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) was acting deeply irresponsible in his likely attempt to shelf a vote on the articles of impeachment that will soon be filed in the Senate against Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. After all, our southern border is one of our most prized assets, and Americans want borders they can trust and the House already impeached Alejandro Mayorkas on a 214 to 213 vote.
After Chaffetz asked Blackburn whether Senate Republicans would receive the articles of impeachment from House Speaker Mike Jonhson (R-LA), Blackburn told viewers, "Yes, and on Wednesday, we expect them [House Republicans] to come to us. We will receive the articles, and we will be sworn in—each senator is sworn into the Court of Impeachment. Now, here is where it gets tricky. We should move forward, at this point, with the Impeachment trial or a committee of impeachment."
Blackburn continued, adding, "But what we are hearing is that, for the first time in our nation's history, Chuck Schumer is wanting to table the impeachment articles. Every American should be incensed by this. Issue number one: we have nearly ten million illegal aliens who have come into this country on Joe Biden's watch. Alejandro Mayorkas has lied to Congress; he has repeatedly said the border is closed, but it is not. He is doing Joe Biden's bidding on this; every single state is affected by this; he should stand for his impeachment trial, as instructed by the Constitution of the United States."
We, the people, demand action, but most importantly, we demand a President who knows the value of our southern border. Fortunately for these patriotic Americans, Trump remains a potent force to win the presidency in 2024, and, as such, he has a great chance to reimplement a truly potent closed-border agenda. The Real Clear Politics polling average has him besting Joe Biden in nationwide polling in recent months, despite the fact that Republican presidential candidates can generally afford to underperform in the popular vote while still winning the election - as they did in 2000 and 2016.
As such, it stands to reason that the radical, far-left Democrats would use any means necessary to gain a much-needed political advantage - including indicting their most likely political opponent. But if Republicans sell their agenda and effectively criticize the Biden administration's America Last policies, the sky is the limit for Republicans in 2024 -- and our nation may very well depend on it. That means rallying around an agenda that is widely popular with Americans -- an agenda that stands up for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all.
