WATCH: Megyn Kelly Sets The Record Straight On Tucker Carlson’s Departure From Fox News – ‘It Was Disrespectful And Gross’

On Tuesday, Megyn Kelly set the record straight about Tucker Carlson’s departure from Fox News on Monday.

The former Fox News host explained that Carlson is not yet fired and “he is still an employee of the Fox News Channel.”

“Suzanne Scott called him, she’s the CEO, on Monday morning and said he was not going to be allowed to do any more shows and that he had been kicked out of his company email and now they are going to have to negotiate an exit,” Kelly said.

“Completely catching Tucker off guard. But Tucker’s now fired. That’s my information,” she revealed. “He still needs to negotiate an exit and right now he is not free to launch a podcast or a digital show or negotiate with other employers at all because he is still under contract.”

“They pulled his show off the air. They also fired his executive produce Justin Wells,” she explained. “And though he tried to find out why, they wouldn’t tell him. They refused to tell him why.

To me, that’s just so disheartening. He’s been at the company for years. He’s been at the primetime for seven years and saw Fox News through one of the most difficult times in its history: the immediate time after Roger Ailes.”

Kelly has repeatedly been going off on Fox News for its terrible treatment of Carlson with her claiming that they are trying to destroy Carlson’s reputation in an effort to turn his audience against him.

“The Fox News audience is clearly mad and I don’t blame them,” the host of the ‘Megyn Kelly Show’ remarked.

“Fox News is banking on its audience not leaving it and its audience being more in love with Fox News brand than they were with Tucker and we will see whether or not that’s true,” she said, adding that the way the network handled the situation was “gross.”

Carlson made his public return on Wednesday evening when he posted a video to Twitter that broke the internet.

The 53-year-old posted a video to his Twitter page that, in less than 24 hours, reached over 65,000,000 people on the platform.

It’s clear that Tucker Carlson isn’t going away and Fox News is suffering because of it. The network’s decision to oust him will likely have lasting consequences.
