WATCH: Nancy Pelosi Says She Would 'Never Recommend' For Joe Biden To Debate Donald Trump - 'I Think He Was Stalking Hillary Clinton'

During a Wednesday interview, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told CNN's Manu Raju that she would "never recommend" debating presumptive Republican nominee Donald J. Trump. This comes after Joe Biden has struggled in recent polling, as more and more Americans reject the brand of America Last politics that former Speaker Pelosi and President Biden represent and stand for. These struggles no doubt prompted the president to propose two debates between him and Donald Trump in the months ahead in a viral video posted to X on Wednesday.

"I think the president is going to be the next president of the United States. I myself would never recommend going on stage with Donald Trump. But the president has decided that that is what he wants to do. I think the format he is suggesting is a good one," Pelosi told Raju in a video posted to the Forbes Breaking News YouTube Channel. When pressed on why she would not recommend Joe Biden debate the 45th president, Pelosi cited Trump's performance in the 2016 presidential debates, saying, "I think he was stalking Hillary Clinton. He wasn't professional, he wasn't presidential, he wasn't meeting the dignity of the office."

She also told Raju that she preferred a Town Hall format to a debate format. "I think you all should have separate town hall meetings with them, and let them, let them challenge them with questions about the future and let the public make its decision," Pelosi added.  Fortunately for America, the 45th president agreed to Joe Biden's proposal for two debates yesterday, the first of which is scheduled to be hosted by CNN on June 27th. This debate will hopefully demonstrate to the whole world what we already know - that Joe Biden is not the leader we, the people, need in the years ahead.

"Following Biden's viral video post on X, CNN offered to host the first debate on June 27th. Biden wrote, 'I've received and accepted an invitation from @CNN for a debate on June 27th. Over to you, Donald. As you said: anywhere, any time, any place,'" the DC Enquirer previously reported. The 45th president, in turn, responded to this tweet in a viral Truth Social post, adding, "It is my great honor to accept the CNN Debate against Crooked Joe Biden, the WORST PRESIDENT in the History of the United States and a true Threat to Democracy, on June 27th. Likewise, I accept the ABC News Debate against Crooked Joe on September 10th. Thank you, DJT!"
