WATCH: President Trump Delivers Heartwarming Message To Florida Residents Following Hurricane Milton - 'God Is With You'

Following the devastation brought by Hurricane Milton on Wednesday, 45th President Donald Trump took to social media to deliver a message to the people of Florida who have had to ride out the hurricane and tornadoes that tormented the Sunshine State over the past 24 hours. The storm, which has already been confirmed to have taken the lives of nine Florida residents, was far less destructive than believed, given the storm's gradual weakening as it approached land. Still, the hurricane did cause considerable flooding and has left millions without power.

"Melania and I are praying for you as you face the aftermath of Hurricane Milton," Trump said in a message posted to social media. "We are deeply saddened by the devastation being reported, and it sounds like it is as bad as it gets. We feel so sorry for you, and we want God to be with you. We know God is with you. Our hearts go out to each and every one of you. To those who have lost so much, know that you are not alone. We have seen you stand tall against storms before, and you will stand tall now."

President Trump then explained that he hoped Florida would be able to rebuild better than ever, particularly after he wins the presidency and takes office on January 20. "Hopefully, on January 20 you are going to have somebody that is really going to help you and help you like never before. Because help is on the way, together, we will rebuild, we will recover, and we will come back stronger, bigger, better than ever before. Please keep your faith, hold strong, and look out for one another because the sun will shine again over the beautiful Florida that we love so much. I live there also. We love it so much. You're in our thoughts, and together, we will come back better than before. You're going to be better than before. Keep your chin up, and God bless you all. God bless the great state of Florida."

The Republican presidential candidate then praised Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) for his stellar performance preparing for the Category 3 hurricane. "Your governor is doing an excellent job. I've been talking to him and watching. Ron is doing a really great job, and we're proud of him," Trump said. "We're going to have something very, very special in the end. I think it is going to turn out a lot better than people thought, but this is a big one. Be very, very careful."

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Gov. DeSantis assembled the largest staging of linemen in the nation's history, with 50,000 workers ready to go. "We have worked with the utilities to have the largest staging of utility workers and linemen in advance of the storm at any time in American history. We will have in Florida, by the time the storm arrives, over 50,000 linemen, and those linemen are being brought in from places as far away as California. As soon as that storm passes, you're going to see the assessments, and the power restoration efforts commence immediately," the Florida governor said during a press conference before the storm hit.

In addition to getting the utility companies to bring in tens of thousands of workers to the Sunshine State, Gov. DeSantis ordered the deployment of 6,000 national guardsmen and managed to get 3,000 national guardsmen from other states to assist. The Florida State Guard also deployed 200 soldiers and ten maritime crews.
