WATCH: Record-Breaking Levels Of Migrants Surge Southern Border, Overwhelming Border Agents

On Monday, Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) revealed that they had yet another record-breaking day at the southern border as over 12,000 migrants crossed from Mexico into the United States as President Biden's open border agenda continues to burden both local communities along the border and far-off Democrat-led cities.

"Per CBP sources, there were more than 12,600 migrants encountered at the southern border in the last 24 hours, the highest single day total ever recorded," Fox News' Bill Melugin reported. "The true number is *significantly* higher because there are thousands still waiting to be processed in Eagle Pass, and they do not count in the numbers until they are put into the computers."

"The official numbers yesterday include over 11,000 Border Patrol apprehensions of illegal immigrants and more than 1,600 migrants encountered at CBP ports of entry," he explained. "This breaks the record of 12,000 encounters that was set just two weeks ago."

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, CBP officially shut down commercial travel on Monday to process more migrants and allow them to enter the country. The Biden administration temporarily shut down the international railway crossing bridges in Eagle Pass and El Paso to deal with the surge. "In other words, they're shutting down international commerce in order to help speed up processing of these migrants, many of them will be released," Melugin explained. "December is traditionally one of the slowest months on our southern border, but the Border Patrol Union tells us that right now, their numbers show that they are on track to potentially have the highest single month of arrests that they have ever had on our southern border."

While Monday saw 12,600 encounters in 24 hours, this isn't the first record-breaking level of encounters even this month. In early December, CBP encountered a then-record-breaking 12,000 migrants, with 10,200 of those migrants being encountered by agents at ports of entry to be processed. The 2023 fiscal year has also kept with the record-breaking pace, with 2.4 million illegal migrants coming across the border under Biden's watch. The monthly encounter record was also broken recently, with September seeing 260,000 migrants cross from Mexico.

As President Biden continues to ignore the crisis at the southern border, Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) signed Senate Bill 4 on Monday, which would allow for Texas law enforcement to arrest illegal migrants entering the state. The legislation is already facing legal challenges from the ACLU. Still, it is a worthwhile step to ensure that the Lone Star State is using whatever legal avenues necessary to secure the border and stop the ongoing invasion.
