WATCH: Trump Stands With Texas Amid Border Showdown - 'We Side With The Great Republican Governors'

On Thursday, Trump Campaign Press Secretaryexclusively told Human Events that President Donald J. Trump is fully behind Texas's recent push to secure her southern border. This comes after the Supreme Court dealt a sizable blow to Texas's efforts to protect the safety of her citizens, allowing the Biden administration the ability to remove the barriers Texas had put up to block the incoming invasion.

"We side with the great Republican governors, Governor Abbott, and all of the others who have signed up to ensure that they have the right to protect their states and protect American citizens and American lives," Leavitt told Jack Posobiec, host of Human Events Daily. "Now, we've had an invasion of nearly 10 million illegal people that we know about. I would beg that it's much, much more than that."

Leavitt continued, adding, "They are being flown around on the American taxpayer dime to every single corner of this country. Every state is a border state, not just Texas." This is exactly right, and this is just another example of Team Trump being at the forefront of a fundamental issue for America and her people. A nation without borders is scarcely worth being called a nation at all. Border security could be the defining issue of the upcoming 2024 election as more and more Americans wake up to the effects of Joe Biden's open border regime. 

In turn, President Trump argued much the same in a viral Truth Social post: "When I was President, we had the most secure Border in History. Joe Biden has surrendered our Border, and is aiding and abetting a massive Invasion of millions of Illegal Migrants into the United States. Instead of fighting to protect our Country from this onslaught, Biden is, unbelievably, fighting to tie the hands of Governor Abbott and the State of Texas, so that the Invasion continues unchecked. In the face of this National Security, Public Safety, and Public Health Catastrophe, Texas has rightly invoked the Invasion Clause of the Constitution, and must be given full support to repel the Invasion.

Donald Trump also said he would work with Governor Greg Abbott (R-TX) on day one to devise a solution to this most pressing of issues. After all, the American people demand a southern border they can trust. We cannot surrender this most prized of assets nor squander our sovereign ability to associate as we please.
