WATCH: Trump Sends Long-Distance Birthday Wishes To Wife Melania From NYC Courthouse - 'It Would Be Nice To Be With Her'

On Friday, presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump send long-distance birthday wishes from the Manhattan courthouse to his wife, Melania. Trump, who is currently facing 34 felony charges brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D), will be traveling back to Mar-a-Lago later on Friday to celebrate with his wife.

"I want to start by wishing my wife Melania a very happy birthday," Trump said outside the courtroom. "It would be nice to be with her—but I'm in a courthouse for a rigged trial. It's a rigged trial. Terrible. But we are doing very well in this rigged trial. Everybody knows it. Yesterday was a big day, but I do have to begin by wishing Melania a happy birthday. She's in Florida. I'll be going there this evening after this case finishes up. This horrible, unconstitutional case."

The former first lady is turning 54 on Friday and is 23 years younger than the 77-year-old Donald Trump. The two married in 2005.

While Melania has been noticeably absent on the campaign trail in recent months, she has taken the initiative to host fundraisers at the Palm Beach, Florida resort. A notable event was the fundraiser on April 20 with the Log Cabin Republicans, where the former model, elegantly dressed in all black, addressed the room as a distinguished guest.

The Log Cabin Republicans describe themselves as "LGBT Republicans and straight allies who support equality under the law for all, free markets, individual liberty, limited government, and a strong national defense." The group previously awarded Melania Trump an award in 2021 during a dinner at the Mar-a-Lago resort, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer. The fundraiser, which was organized by Saul Fox, Elizabeth Ailes, Deborah Magowan, Amanda Schumacher, Bill White, Bryan Eure, and Richard Grenell, was a kickoff event for the organization's "Road to Victory" program as it works to reach out to voters in battleground states.

Melania foreshadowed her return to the campaign last month when she joined her husband to vote in the Florida Republican primary last month. When asked by the press whether she would return to the campaign trail, she said, "Stay tuned."
