WATCH: Trump Speaks Out On Mugshot, 4th Indictment In First Interview After Arrest: 'A Very Sad Day For Our Country'

On Thursday, after leading 2024 presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to be arrested as part of far-left Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ frivolous indictment, he spoke with Newsmax’s Greg Kelly.

“Terrible experience. I came in. I was treated very nicely. It is what it is. I took a mugshot, which I’ve never heard the words mugshot. They didn’t teach me that at the Wharton School of Finance. And I had to go through a process. It’s election interference. You know that better than anybody,” Trump said.

“It’s a very sad experience. It’s a very sad day for our country. This is a weaponized Justice Department,” Trump added.

While Trump didn’t take a mugshot for his first three politically motivated indictments, he did take one for his fourth indictment. Trump gave a powerful expression for his mugshot photo.

Trump also returned to X, formerly Twitter, for the first time in over two and a half years. For his first post back to the platform, Trump put out a picture of his mugshot along with the caption, "ELECTION INTERFERENCE NEVER SURRENDER! DONALDJTRUMP.COM".

This comes a day after Trump’s co-defendants, including former New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani, attorney Jenna Ellis, and Sidney Powell.

Trump paid his bond of $200,000.

Willis’ indictment charges Trump with 13 frivolous counts concerning supposed efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in the state.

“231,000,000 Views, and still counting. The Biggest Video on Social Media, EVER, more than double the Super Bowl,” Trump wrote in a post on Thursday on his top-rated social media platform, Truth Social.

“But please excuse me, I have to start getting ready to head down to Atlanta, Georgia, where Murder and other Violent Crimes have reached levels never seen before, to get ARRESTED by a Radical Left, Lowlife District Attorney, Fani Willis, for A PERFECT PHONE CALL, and having the audacity to challenge a RIGGED & STOLEN ELECTION. THE EVIDENCE IS IRREFUTABLE! ARREST TIME: 7:30 P.M,” Trump wrote.

Hours before Trump was arraigned on Thursday, it was announced House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan launched a probe into Fani Willis.

“Your indictment and prosecution implicate substantial federal interests, and the circumstances surrounding your actions raise serious concerns about whether they are politically motivated,” Jordan wrote.

“You did not bring charges until two-and-a-half years later, at a time when the campaign for the Republican presidential nomination is in full swing,” the Ohio Republican added.

“Moreover, you have requested that the trial in this matter begin on March 4, 2024, the day before Super Tuesday and eight days before the Georgia presidential primary,” Jordan wrote.

On August 1, Special Counsel Jack Smith announced Trump's third indictment over the events of January 6, 2021, which includes four counts consisting of conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights.

Legal experts are in agreement that Smith’s latest indictment of Trump is nothing more than a sham that ignores the law and criminalizes free speech.

“I’ve now read the new Indictment twice. It is criminalizing speech, thought, legal (right or wrong) positions, and disinformation. It also is shockingly manipulative of statutes and theories which require enormous legal wrangling,” Executive Director of Right On Crime and former U.S. Attorney Brett L. Tolman tweeted.

Trump’s trial date concerning Special Counsel Jack Smith's first June indictment of Trump for supposedly "mishandling" classified documents was set for May 20, 2024, by Judge Aileen Cannon.

Trump pleaded not guilty to all 37 fraudulent counts brought by Smith in that indictment in June.

Luckily for Trump, he has the ultimate defense for this indictment as well! Trump turned Jack Smith’s frivolous federal indictment of him on its head when he cited the Presidential Records Act as a defense.

The Presidential Records Act is a 1978 law that allows presidents to decide what records to keep and take, regardless of what the National Archives and Records Administration thinks.

In March, Trump was indicted by far-left Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg over a $130,000 payment to adult film "star” Stormy Daniels made by his former lawyer and now-convicted liar, Michael Cohen. 

Trump pleaded not guilty to all of Bragg's 34 frivolous felony charges. 

In April, Bragg held a press conference and told reporters he doesn’t need to “specify” what crimes Trump actually committed because “the law does not so require.”
