Silverstone explained that she left the Democratic party almost a year ago and now supports Kennedy. The actress posted a campaign video of Kennedy to Instagram Tuesday with a lengthy statement.
"Last year, I cancelled my Democratic Party registration and registered as an Independent voter. Like many others, I am deeply disappointed with political leadership at every turn."
She explained, "The division, the lies, the profiteering at the expense of the people and public health. But @robertfkennedyjr gives me hope. This man gets me excited about the potential for truth and justice. He provides hope for young and old to trust our government once again. RFK Jr. is a person we can be inspired and be proud to call President."
Silverstone, like Kennedy, is an avowed animal rights activist and has voiced strong opposition to mandated vaccinations, according to Fox News.
She extolled Kennedy's virtues in the post, writing, "Bobby is a true leader. He loves our country deeply and is the most courageous warrior. He fights for all mothers and children. He fights for our planet, fairness, and freedom. He is someone who can unify the divide in this country. He is a walking history book; a passionate loving human with no tolerance for corruption or bullying."
Emphasizing his commitment to several Democrat talking points such as worker's rights, pollution, and income inequality she lent Kennedy a fulsome endorsement.
She further appealed to those who "have felt disenfranchised by our government like me," and cited her past work alongside the well-known activist attorney, recommending that they listen to him speak.
As previously reported by DC Enquirer, the Democratic National Convention has stated that there will be no primary debates, seemingly refusing to acknowledge the candidacies of Kennedy, or fellow Democrat Marianne Williamson in any meaningful way. Last week actor James Van Der Beek slammed the DNC in a viral Tiktok video because of this.
According to Fox, Congressional Democrats have dismissed Kennedy as "fringe" and said he shouldn't be taken seriously by the party. However, Real Clear Politics reports that in a recent CNN poll, Kennedy earned a respectable 20 percent of registered voters. Kennedy's RCP Average is 16.8 percent, while his highest poll to date in April put him at 21 percent in an Emerson poll. Evidently, Hollywood and the American people are taking Kennedy far more seriously than Beltway Democrats. You can follow Matt Holloway on Facebook, Twitter, TruthSocial, Gettr, Gab & Parler.
