BREAKING: Lee Zeldin Announces Who He Supports For President In 2024

On Monday, former Republican New York gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin announced who he will be supporting for the Republican nomination for 2024.

“The GOP is filled with amazing talent to save our country from the failed policies of the Biden Admin,” Zeldin wrote on Twitter. “Our nominee in 2024 will be the 45th & 47th POTUS, Donald Trump.”

“Our economy will be stronger, our streets will be safer, & our lives will be freer. He has my full support!” he added.

In response to the endorsement, New York Young Republican Club President Gavin Wax said that Zeldin’s endorsement will be a turning point in the Republican primary.

“With Zeldin endorsing Trump you are gonna see a lot of people who have been playing cute about this primary suddenly come out of the woodwork and endorse Trump,” Wax wrote. “The winds are changing.”

For his part, Donald Trump endorsed Zeldin during his run for New York Governor. Against all odds, Zeldin made the race to the finish as competitive as any in recent memory — barely losing to radical leftist New York Governor Kathy Hochul.

He is a great and brilliant lawyer who was a “must see” for others in Congress when they had a complex legal problem that was holding up legislation. Lee was strong on the Border, Crime, our great Military & Vets (like few others!), and fought hard to protect our 2nd Amendment, and succeeded, Trump said on Truth Social in October of 2022. “Lee Zeldin is a WINNER who GOT THINGS DONE. He will be a GREAT Governor of New York, and has my Complete & Total Endorsement. GOOD LUCK LEE!”

Trump has continued to rack up endorsements in recent weeks. He pulled eleven Republican congressional endorsements from Florida last week alone.

According to FiveThirtyEight’s endorsement tracker, Trump has the endorsement of 48 representatives, nine senators, and two governors along with various other state officials.

Meanwhile, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), Trump’s main opponent for the primary, on the other hand only has the support of three members of Congress: Reps. Laurel Lee (R-FL), Chip Roy (R-TX), and Thomas Massie (R-KY).

Zeldin’s support for Trump shows that Republican leaders are increasingly putting their support behind Trump and are expecting that he will win the nomination for 2024.
