Former NBA Star Charles Barkley Attacks Conservatives Boycotting Bud Light – 'Rednecks Or A**holes'

Former NBA player Charles Barkley had choice words for those who are boycotting Bud Light over their controversial team-up with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Bud Light and parent company Anheuser-Busch have been reeling since their catastrophic partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney after the company sent him a custom can to celebrate his ‘365 Days of Womanhood.’ The move resulted in a record boycott against the American beer company causing millions of dollars in lost sales and massive brand damage, per DC Enquirer.

“So I’m gonna buy some drinks for y’all and I’m gonna buy Bud Light,” Barkley reportedly said at a California event over the weekend, per The Daily Wire. “Hey, let me tell you something. All you rednecks or a**holes who don’t want to drink Bud Light, f*** y’all. Hey, y’all can’t cancel me!”

“Hey, I ain’t worried about getting canceled because let me tell you something, if y’all fire me and gimme all that money, I’m gonna be playing golf every f***ing day,” he continued. “So listen, as I said last night, if you’re gay, God bless you. If you’re trans, God bless you. And if you have a problem with them – f*** you.”

This wasn’t the first time that the former basketball player made remarks like these, having said things of a similar vein at a golf event on Saturday. 

“I want y’all to drink this f***ing beer,” he said. “I want y’all to drink this f***ing beer. I got three cases of Bud Light.”

“Hey, and I want to say this — if you’re gay, bless you,” he continued. “If you’re transgender, bless you. And, if you have a problem with that, f*** you!”

Of course, Barkley’s words mean very little in the overall scheme of things. Bud Light continues to see a massive drop in sales compared to the same time last year, typically observing a 25 percent to 30 percent drop per period, per the DC Enquirer. The words of the basketball player will do very little overall to change that.

Until Bud Light actually does anything to amend their past sins, nothing is going to change. The people boycotting Bud Light are not “rednecks or a**holes” but simply people who draw the line at a company forcing values they don’t agree with onto them. It’s all good that Barkley supports LGBTQ, he has the right to choose that, but there is also the right of the consumer to choose not to support a brand that forces that into their marketing.
