Democratic strategists are beginning to prop up the idea of Donald Trump beating incumbent President Joe Biden in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
According to The Hill, multiple different democratic strategists are beginning to point out the disconnect between the Democratic voters and the people representing them. One strategist said “There’s a disconnect between the consultant class of our party and the voters. They think they can just run a bunch of ads talking about how crazy Donald Trump is [and] that will be enough. That’s just not the case.”
Another strategist warned that the Democrats should “Be very f*cking worried” about the upcoming election.
This comes not long after recent polls show both Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis beating President Biden in a hypothetical matchup for the White House, as reported by the DC Enquirer. Many other polls show Trump having a notable lead over Biden, raising more cause for concern for the aging president and his party.
The current fiascos facing the Biden administration only look to worsen his standing within his party as well. With the looming crisis with the end of Title 42 on Thursday, as well as the eminent debt ceiling fight, the Biden administration is facing a multitude of issues that aren’t showing signs of easy fixes.
That's before even discussing the decaying mental state of the president, as most Americans have notable doubts about Biden's mental sharpness showing a notable decline during his presidency. Per History, a president supposedly ages twice as fast while in office, bringing Biden closer to being completely senile than ever.
Democrats are hoping the recent wave of the E. Jean Carroll lawsuit, covered by the DC Enquirer, could drag Trump down, but in many ways, the lawsuit appears to be a rallying point for his supporters. Trump also was at a CNN Town Hall on Wednesday night, giving many key positive moments for the former president, as reported by the DC Enquirer.
Democrats are still hoping for a Trump loss, with Nayyera Haq, a former Obama administration official, saying that they “have a hard time seeing [Trump win].
Simon Rosenburg, another Democratic strategist, hopes that the midterm success from the Democratic party will come once again in the 2024 election, claiming, “Anyone who thinks that this anti-MAGA majority that did so well for us these last three elections is all of a sudden going to not show up, well, I have a red wave to sell you.”
Nonetheless, the moment seems to be in favor of the potential GOP nominee and unless Biden deals with the issues plaguing him and his administration, we may just see Trump pull another upset victory in the coming 2024 election.
