Elon Musk Teases 'Epic Location' For Rome Cage Fight Against Zuckerberg, Proceeds Will Go To Veterans

After a while with little updates, Elon Musk took to his X account (formerly Twitter) to update eager overlookers about the fight between him and fellow billionaire tech giant Mark Zuckerberg, saying that it will be hosted on both Twitter and Meta and the prime minister of Italy “agreed on an epic location.”

“The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations (not UFC). Livestream will be on this platform and Meta,” Musk wrote. “Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all. I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location.”

The tech giant then wrote two follow-up tweets, further clarifying information about the fight. The first one read “Everything done will pay respect to the past and present of Italy,” with the second reading “And all proceeds go to veterans.”

Musk also answered some questions in replies to his tweet. One user asked whether or not Twitter Blue subscribers or subscribers to Elon Musk’s X account will receive any sort of bonus or behind-the-scenes footage, to which Musk excitedly answered “Absolutely!”

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the two tech moguls agreed to the fight back in June after a random X user joked about Zuckerberg learning jiu-jitsu, prompting Musk to say he was “up for a cage match if he is.” Many first assumed that it was merely a joke by the X owner until Zuckerberg responded saying that he would happily take on the challenge.

Musk has since begun training with UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre who reached out through X making the offer, per the DC Enquirer. Musk jumped on the opportunity to train with someone highly capable like St-Pierre and has shown some footage of spar matches under his tutelage.

The cage fight between two of the richest men in America is continuing to build up more and more. Something that started as a simple joke has turned into what could be the biggest fighting event in the history of the sport.

The fight between the two could also set a precedent for others making similar arrangements as it has managed to garner a massive audience and is now being dedicated to a noble cause. Regardless, until the fight occurs, onlookers can only wait eagerly for more details.
