Across the country, the issue of biological men competing in women's sports has become a controversial topic. Female athletes, most notably Riley Gaines, have been taking a vocal stand against the unfair playing conditions. In Connecticut, another brave athlete, Selena Soule, is standing her ground in court over the issue.
Soule is calling for more people to stand up. "Everybody who's encountered this issue needs to speak up and ask for fairness. I was one of the very first to start speaking on this issue, and it's taken a while, but we've finally started to get somewhere where there are states that are starting to pass 'Save Women's Sports' bills," she advocated while being interviewed on America Reports.
"But we ultimately need to protect every single girl in this country. So everyone out there needs to start speaking on this issue and ask for fairness to be restored to women's sports," she continued.
"It's devastating that there are women out there who are retiring or changing their events because they're being forced to compete against biological men. Where those males, if they were competing in the men's category, would be barely mediocre, but in the women's, they are dominating the field," Soule explained.
In red states, this issue has become popular among legislators. In Texas, Senate Bill 15, dubbed the "Save Women's Sports" bill, is headed to the governor's desk to be signed into law, which would effectively ban all biological men from competing in women's sports on the collegiate level. This comes after the Texas legislature banned boys from competing in girls' sports in grades kindergarten through 12th grade back in 2021.

According to Family Policy Alliance, 18 states have passed laws regarding the issue, giving hope to female athletes across the country. But Selena still has a fight on her hands due to the fact that Connecticut isn't one of the 18 states that have chosen to protect Title IX.
According to Fox News, Soule, along with other female athletes, is suing the Connecticut Association of Schools with the help of the Alliance Defending Freedom due to the fact that they were forced to compete against two biological men. While the movement is gaining momentum in some areas, there is still much to be done across the country.
