On Thursday, 2024 Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley argued for the pardoning of 24-year-old Marine Veteran Daniel Penny. This comes after Penny was charged with second-degree manslaughter by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg following the controversial death of Jordan Neely.
"Really, what I think needs to happen – the governor needs to pardon Penny. No question about it. She needs to pardon him right away. It’s the right thing to do," Haley said on Thursday's airing of 'Fox News Tonight,' as previously reported by Fox News Digital. "This is if they don't: criminals will continue to rule the streets of New York because they will know that there is no accountability for anyone who tries to stop them,"
Haley then discussed the implications of Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) pardoning Penny, saying, "And, if she pardons him, that sets a right on a lot of things. It'll put criminals on notice. And, it will let people like Penny who really were very brave in that instance, it will let them know that we've got their back."
As the DC Enquirer previously reported, "Penny was arraigned last week after radical liberal Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg decided to charge him with second-degree manslaughter -- even with all the controversy surrounding the case. The New York Post previously reported Neely had been 'acting erratically and threatening passengers on board a northbound F train just before 2:30 p.m. Monday when another rider intervened to stop him.' In response to this, Alvin Bragg, the same district attorney who indicted President Trump earlier this year, brought charges against Penny."
Americans of all stripes have lent their support to Penny -- both financially and otherwise. Indeed, Musician Kid Rock donated $5,000 to his defense fund, saying, “Mr. Penny is a hero. Alvin Bragg is a POS. Kid Rock."
In turn, podcaster Tim Pool donated $20,000 to his defense fund on Christian Crowdfunding site 'GiveSendGo', tweeting, "I just donated $20,000 to Daniel Penny's Defense fund Penny is the Subway Good Samaritan and we are lucky to have brave souls like him who are willing to do the right thing."

Fellow 2024 candidate Vivek Ramaswamy donated $10,000 to the defense of Daniel Penny and replied to Governor Ron DeSantis's (R-FL) defense of Penny with, "I agree with this. Just donated. More of us should. We must restore the rule of law in America."
