On Thursday, 45th President and leading 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump laid out how he’d end the war between Russia and Ukraine during a town hall event with Fox News’ Sean Hannity in Iowa.

"You also have said that if you're President, you could end this very quickly," Hannity said.
"Yeah," Trump responded.
"How?" Hannity asked.
"Let's say if I'm President... By the way, this is a much worse position than when it started. Before it started, it was easy,” Trump clarified.
“He wasn't going to do it and I had conversations. It was always the apple of his eye. I mean I could see that. But I said, 'You're not going to do it. And if you do it, we're going to have problems like you've never had before.' He understood,” Trump said.
“I said things and he'd say, 'You don't mean that.' And I said, 'I mean it 100 percent.' And he didn't totally believe me, but he believed me 10 percent. And that's all he had to do. He knew that there was going to be a problem,” Trump added.
“You're implying something here. You basically said, 'I'd obliterate you.' Is that what you said to them?” Hannity asked.
“I said things that were very bad, very nasty," Trump said as the audience applauded.
“I had to deal with Moscow. He said, 'You don't mean that.' I said, 'I do. I'll never talk about it again, but I do.' He said, 'You don't mean it. You don't mean it.' And we then went onto other subjects,” Trump said.
“I don't think he believed me, but he believed me 10 percent. That's all he had to believe me. 5 percent would be good enough. I had the same conversation with President Xi about Taiwan. President Xi of China,” Trump added.
Trump is currently leading the 2024 presidential primary and the general election by a landslide, according to Emerson College Polling.
In a new Emerson College Iowa poll from May 19 to 22, Trump is leading all other Republican opponents with a massive and impressive 62 percent. Florida Governor and now 2024 Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis came in second place with a far 20 percent.
In a hypothetical 2024 presidential matchup between Trump and President Joe Biden, Trump crushed Biden with a 49 percent victory, 11 points higher than Biden's 38 percent. Amongst those polled, 10 percent plan to vote for someone else and 3 percent remain undecided.
In a hypothetical 2024 matchup between DeSantis and Biden, DeSantis beats Biden with a less impressive victory than Trump received. DeSantis won with 45 percent to Biden's 38 percent.
With polls showing Trump in the lead amongst all potential Republican and Democrat challengers, any potential candidate will have an impossible battle if they attempt to usurp the favorite to win the 2024 nomination.
