Team Trump: 'Inappropriate' To Schedule Debates With 'Marxist Fraud' Kamala Harris Until Formal Nomination

On Thursday, 45th President Donald Trump's campaign announced that they would not schedule a presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris until the Democrat Party officially nominates her in an early August online roll call. The move comes after Trump had previously demanded that the debate be moved from ABC News to Fox News.

"Given the continued political chaos surrounding Crooked Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, general election debate details cannot be finalized until Democrats formally decide on their nominee," the Trump campaign said in a statement, per Breitbart. "There is a strong sense by many in the Democrat Party — namely Barack Hussein Obama — that Kamala Harris is a Marxist fraud who cannot beat President Trump, and they are still holding out for someone 'better.' Therefore, it would be inappropriate to schedule things with Harris because Democrats very well could still change their minds."

Following Team Trump's statement, the Harris campaign attempted to mock Trump for backing out of the debate despite the fact that the campaign made it clear that they would schedule a debate when the party officially nominated Harris. The Trump campaign's statement also forced President Barack Obama to come out and endorse Harris on Friday morning.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama jointly endorsed Harris after reports that the 44th president was "furious" that the 59-year-old Democrat had been anointed at the top of the ticket.

"Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend [Kamala Harris]," President Obama posted to X alongside a video. "We told her we think she'll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we're going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you'll join us."

In the attached video, Kamala, with a mic fastened to her jacket, answers the Obamas' call. "I can't have this phone call without saying to my girl Kamala, I am proud of you. This is going to be historic," Michelle Obama said.

"We called to say Michelle and I couldn't be prouder to endorse you and to do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval Office," the 44th president said. In response, Kamala expressed her gratitude for the Obamas' support and for their friendship over the years.

While the Obamas had to support the presumptive Democratic nominee, their underlying feelings about Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket are reportedly far different than what they show publicly. As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, President Obama was reportedly caught off guard by Joe Biden's endorsement of Harris to be the Democratic nominee after his withdrawal from the race. The 44th president believes that Harris won't be able to defeat Donald Trump in November, and he wanted to have another candidate, reportedly Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), be at the top of the ticket.
