"It’s fascinating about Ron DeSantis, is that he had success in Florida obviously and won overwhelmingly in Florida but can’t do anything when he goes out," Dowd said, during a Tuesday appearance on MSNBC's 'Lindsey Reiser Reports.' "At some point, the first time, second time, third time, fourth time outside their state, if they are not doing well, I don’t know if the fifth, sixth, or seventh helps them. The biggest problem he has is Donald Trump is as if he is the incumbent in this race case.”
He continued, saying, "Eight years ago, when Donald Trump first ran, Donald Trump was at 14 percent or 15 percent in the polls. Today, he is at 50 percent or 60 percent in the polls. He is in a much more dominant position, Donald Trump, than he was in 2015 and 2016 when he still won the nomination in this process. The problem for Ron DeSantis, is, I think, and anybody else running in the race, it’s not about them. Will some external event happen, something – some legal cause or something else happen that gives them a window where they can actually succeed? Because without it, I do not see how they do."
Dowd is not the only person who believes Trump is in a better position to win than he was in 2016. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) agrees, as do a great many Patriots all across our nation.
“As usual, the media is attempting to drive a wedge between President Trump and House Republicans as our committees are holding Biden’s DOJ accountable for their two-tiered levels of justice,” McCarthy told Breitbart News, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer. “The only reason Biden is using his weaponized federal government to go after President Trump is because he is Biden’s strongest political opponent, as polling continues to show.”
According to Breitbart, McCarthy then cited a Morning Consult poll conducted from June 23-25th. The poll finds Donald Trump leading Joe Biden by three percentage points -- with Trump grabbing 44 percent of the vote. President Biden was only able to hold a measly 41 percent of the vote -- unable to generate the clear momentum Trump has on his side. “Just look at the numbers this morning—Trump is stronger today than he was in 2016,” McCarthy added.
This shows Trump is in a great position as the 2024 race continues to heat up on both sides of the aisle.
