Elon Musk Reacts To Tucker Carlson’s Departure From Fox News, Says Twitter Is A Free Speech Alternative

On Monday, it was announced that Tucker Carlson will be leaving Fox News with the host’s final show being last Friday, April 21st.

“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the network said in a statement, according to Forbes.

“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” Fox continued in its statement. “Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday, April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.”

In response to this news, Twitter CEO and billionaire Elon Musk took to Twitter to argue that the social media platform can be a place for Carlson to come make content given its free speech prioritization.

“Elon Musk should hire Tucker Carlson and start a video service to compete with YouTube,” wrote Genevieve Roch-Decter to which Musk responded: “Or we don’t hire anyone, but simply enable content creators to prosper on this platform without applying censorship that goes beyond the law.”

Musk went on to explain that he expects creators on Twitter to be able to make even more money than those on YouTube.

In addition to this statement, Musk pushed back on left-wing journalist Ed Krassenstein who stated the following about Carlson’s exit from Fox: “Tucker Carlson is a proven liar who doesn’t deserve to ever have a position with a news organization again. He deserves to be personally sued for defamation for spreading misinformation and lies. The man doesn’t seem to care about the truth. He only cares about spreading propaganda. Hopefully, Fox News replaces him with a real journalist, but I’m not holding out hope!”

In response to this biased statement, Musk asked, “Are you ever critical of someone on the left?”

It is clear that Musk, who was recently interviewed by Tucker Carlson, feels for the Fox News host’s sudden cancellation. Twitter can be an alternative for Tucker if he so chooses. So far, Carlson has yet to utilize the platform following his departure, but he noticeably has deleted his bio from his account.

Americans across the country look forward to seeing what Tucker Carlson does next with his career.
