Joe Manchin SLAMS Biden For Failing To Protect Our Border - 'Our Country Cannot Maintain Our Superpower Status If We Cannot Control Our Own Border'

On Thursday, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) blasted Joe Biden for failing to protect our southern border as Donald Trump's Title 42 rule expires. 

“We are one day from the end of Title 42 and still the Biden Administration has no viable solution to prevent an unmanageable surge of migrants at our southern border," Manchin said in a statement, as previously reported by the Washington Examiner.

"There are multiple commonsense solutions to this crisis, including my bipartisan bill that would give the Administration a two-year temporary expulsion authority for migrants attempting to illegally enter the U.S. without inspection or proper documentation," Manchin said. "While I do not support every provision, Republicans in the House of Representatives are at least working on a border security bill to fill the leadership vacuum created by this Administration. Our country cannot maintain our superpower status if we cannot control our own border.”

As the DC Enquirer previously reported, "President Trump first invoked Title 42 in March of 2020. The measure aimed to expel the waves of illegal aliens flooding our southern border – potentially spreading the Chinese coronavirus. Citing public health concerns, Title 42 expedited the time required to send illegals back to Mexico (often within hours of arrest), legally circumventing the more sluggish measures previously in place."

"It was a brilliant policy move, helping mitigate the pandemic at a time when the country was especially vulnerable to the disease. Moreover, while Democrats were fighting tooth and nail to defund and derail Trump's other highly effective border security measures, Title 42 proved legally resilient. Despite a barrage of legal attacks, courts upheld the policy, and it remained in place," the DC Enquirer added.

While Title 42 was invoked at the height of the pandemic, its impact was crucial to keeping America safe. And that is why Manchin is precisely correct: our border is a thing worth protecting. A nation with no borders is no nation. And as Title 42 expires, America faces a crisis of monumental proportions. Joe Biden is destroying our nation and his two years in office have been nothing short of a disaster.
