A new Fox News poll shows Trump widening his lead over his Republican competition, including a sizable lead with younger voters.
"A Fox News poll conducted from June 23 through June 26 shows the Florida Governor 50 points behind former President Donald Trump, 64% to 14%, with Republican voters under the age of 45," Florida Politics reports. "The Governor has made age an issue in campaign speeches, promoting himself as being able to bring energy to the executive branch. Despite these promises, younger voters represent a drag on DeSantis’ overall numbers, and are the worst subgroup for the Governor in the Fox News survey. With voters between the ages of 45 and 64, DeSantis is only 25 points down (52% to 27%)."
The poll also finds Trump leading his Republican competition among other age cohorts. Among 65 and older voters, Trump leads DeSantis 50 percent to 30 percent. Overall, Trump has 56 percent support among Republican primary voters. DeSantis manages to draw a measly 22 percent of voter support. Vivek Ramaswamy is the only other candidate who manages to grab 5 percent of voter support.
As the DC Enquirer reported earlier this week, Trump's dominance is clear and this is clearly his race to lose.
"Race to the WH released an average of the early state polling and highlighted key states that needed to be secured to gain the presidential nomination. Even in Trump’s smallest margin, South Carolina, he’s still leading second place Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) by 21.7 percent, having garnered 40.8 percent in comparison to DeSantis’ 19.1 percent," the DC Enquirer previously reported. "The margin only grows larger as you go to other essential states with Trump getting 44.8 percent in Iowa compared to the 22.2 percent that the Sunshine State governor holds onto. New Hampshire awards the real estate mogul a massive 30.7 percent lead with his 46 percent support compared to DeSantis’ 15.3 percent."
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem (R-SD) recently concurred with this sentiment, saying Trump is the only candidate with a 'path to victory.'
"President Trump is in the race and right now I don’t see a path to victory for anybody else with him in the race and the situation as it sits today," Noem continued, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer. "But I think people should saddle up — it could be a roller coaster of a presidential race ... I think it’ll be unprecedented in what we’ll see. There’s a lot of unknowns and the person who may win may not even be in the race yet.”
