Trump’s Untold Tales Of Kindness: After Founder Died On 9/11, Trump Saved His Girls Basketball League ‘Slam Jam’ With Large Donation

On the tragic day of September 11, 2001, a man who founded the “Slam Jam Women’s Basketball Classic” lost his life ensuring everyone had cleared his office before he did.

The man, Clyde Frazier Jr., focused on giving back to the youth of Harlem throughout his life. Under his leadership, his Slam Jam group was one of the most successful youth groups in New York City.

In 2013, after Fraizer Jr.’s father, Clyde Frazier Sr., told his story of losing his son and how his son would use his own money to help young athletes and even tutor them, then reality TV host and successful businessman Donald Trump wrote Frazier Sr. a check for $25,000.

“Trump saw the elder Frazier’s interview about his son and Slam Jam on ‘Good Day New York’ and was so touched that he reached out to ‘Good Day New York’ and made a donation to Slam Jam,” a September 2013 New York Amsterdam Newspaper article reads.

Clyde Frazier Sr. said of Trump’s act of kindness, “It’s a check for $25,000. I feel a little nervous. I’m talking about a billionaire. He’s a man of the world. He’s a master builder. It’s a dream come true.”

“You can tell the girls to get ready. I really believe my son is doing this,” Frazier Sr. added.

“It was amazing how you spoke of your son and your other son, James. I know you’re going to spend this money wisely. It’s an honor to know you,” Trump said.
