Florida to Issue Report Challenging Transgender Ideology, Sex Reassignment Surgeries

According to a preliminary report obtained by Breitbart, the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration is set to challenge the safety and effectiveness of sex reassignment surgeries, puberty blockers, and cross-sex hormone treatments. The report provided by the Florida Medicaid program describes them as ‘experimental and investigational.’

The report concluded that studies showing the effects on the patients’ mental health of the medical treatments listed above “are either low or very low quality and rely on unreliable methods such as surveys and retrospective analyses, both of which are cross-sectional and highly biased.”

The report also concluded that although major organizations like the American Academy of Pediatrics may endorse such operations, “Their eminence in the medical community alone does not validate views in the absence of quality, supporting, evidence”

“To the contrary, the evidence shows that the above treatments pose irreversible consequences, exacerbate or fail to alleviate existing mental conditions, and cause infertility or sterility. Given the current state of the evidence, the above treatments do not conform to GAPMS and are experimental and investigational.”

The report cites a study investigating the sources of the surging gender dysphoria rates.

“Research on rapid onset gender dysphoria (ROGD) links this phenomenon to peer and social elements. In an analysis utilizing parent surveys, Lisa Littman asserts that the rapid rise of ROGD is not associated with the traditional patterns of gender dysphoria onset (i.e., evidence of an individual’s gravitation to the opposite sex documented over multiple years) but rather exposure to ‘social and peer contagion.’”

Rather, the surge of gender dysphoria is largely a result of the popularization and proliferation of gender dysphoria in a positive light. This is largely enabled by social media and transgender affirming settings – a strong indication that these individuals are not born as such but born into a society that imposes Left wing ideology onto its inhabitants.

LGBTQ+ activists often claim that their lifestyle is not a choice and that they are born that way, but the fact of the matter is that this is likely not the case. Perhaps it is not the choice in the sense that children are ideologically subverted at young ages by those who are already mentally ill, but beyond that, there is a limited argument that gender dysphoria is a solely natural phenomenon.

The contents of this report should come as no surprise given that gender dysphoria is actively glorified and promoted by the current administration and nearly all branches of the media industrial complex.

This marks another event where Florida leads the nation in confronting woke ideologies head-on. These reports often form the base of rules for the state’s healthcare system and may be used to restrict coverage on many of the irreversible procedures that have detrimental effects on patients.

In other words, transgender care may no longer be a state-sponsored practice in the state of Florida. This is a step in the right direction, but it will be interesting to see if any Florida House members introduce legislation restricting doctors and insurance companies from profiting off of mentally ill individuals seeking irreversible operations.

With any luck, Florida will continue to forge itself into a safe haven against groomers and the purveyors of woke ideologies.
