WATCH: Lindsay Graham Goes Off on Trump Indictment – ‘Shocking and Dangerous Day For the Rule of Law’

The Senior U.S. Senator from South Carolina, Republican Lindsey Graham publicly lambasted the reported indictment of 45th President Donald J. Trump Thursday by the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D). The 67-year-old senator who sometimes finds himself at odds with the America First branch of his party promptly condemned the move as a “shocking and dangerous day for the rule of law.

Graham was a lawyer in his own right for four years (1984-1988) in the U.S. Air Force, and later recalled in the 90s as a Staff Judge Advocate retiring as a Colonel, according to his office.

So when he calls the indictment, “a shocking and dangerous day for the Rule of Law in America,” and “one of the most irresponsible decisions in American history by any prosecutor,” as reported by Breitbart, the remark carries some weight.

“It is irresponsible because the case was looked at by two previous prosecutors and they passed. It has not aged like fine wine,” Graham explained.

“The chief witness for the prosecution is a convicted felon, Michael Cohen, whose previous lawyer said he is untrustworthy. Upon scrutiny, this case folds like a cheap suit. So how does this end?” he asked.

“Trump wins in court and he wins at the ballot box.”

Facing extreme controversy for his co-sponsorship of the RESTRICT Act, a bill he no longer supports, his appearance on Hannity supporting President Trump could be seen as an attempt to course-correct for a career misstep. But notwithstanding the effort seems to have paid off.

FEDERAL JUDGE MAKES BIZARRE ORDER TO HAVE SEN. GRAHAM TESTIFY ON TRUMP INVESTIGATION CASE

As reported by Business Insider he told Fox viewers, “you need to help this man, Donald J. Trump, they’re trying to drain him dry. He’s spent more money on lawyers than most people spend on campaigns.”

He continued, “DonaldJTrump.com, go tonight, give the president some money to fight this bullshit,” Graham said, and he implored Trump supporters to “fight back at the ballot box.”

“If you believe Donald Trump is being treated poorly and wrongly, stand up and help him and pray for our country, pray for him. Go to DonaldJTrump.com and give money so he can defend himself,” he added.
